The Pitmaster Apron

We are honored to team up with the pitmaster, Daniel Castillo of Southern California's nationally acclaimed Heritage Barbecue to create an official 100% flame resistant Pitmaster Apron. We constructed the apron out of material that is engineered with scientific expertise and advanced custom-made equipment to ensure flame resistance for the entire life of the garment.

This handcrafted denim apron is designed to withstand the heat of the fire with built-in quilted insulation and constructed with materials to protect against flames and embers such as 100% flame resistant denim and NOMEX threading.

Ideal for the professional pitmaster and the home griller, this apron is functional and yet still design-forward with copper hardware, leather accents, and a pop of color through orange cotton straps and stitching on denim that mimics the look and feel of your favorite pair of jeans.

All materials are 100% designed and manufactured in the U.S.A.

About Heritage Barbecue & Daniel Castillo

Heritage Barbecue has been pushing the boundaries of what craft BBQ is and more importantly, what it can be. Lines stretch around the block at the San Juan Capistrano brick + mortar for everything from brisket banh mi and pulled pork adobo rice bowls to pastrami tortas and smoked pork belly musubi -- to the traditional holy trinity of brisket, ribs and housemade sausages.

They are the very first restaurant in California to be able to legally use the special offset smokers used in Texas, and have helped pave the way for other barbecue folks to set up shop as part of the "Barbecue Boom or Renaissance" that California is experiencing as of late. Owner and pitmaster Daniel Castillo is also one of the very few Latino pitmasters in the country.

Heritage Barbecue is a Michelin Bib Gourmand recipient, named one of LA Times' 101 Best Restaurants, hailed as one of America's Best New BBQ Spots by Food & Wine, with rave reviews from Eater, and beyond.
